Located on Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands, Texas, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion opened in 1990. Its opening fulfilled the dream of a first-class performing arts facility held by George P. Mitchell, who founded The Woodlands, and his wife Cynthia Woods Mitchell. Since then, the pavilion has been much-loved by artists and guests alike and hosts more than 50 events each year from March through December. The variety of entertainment options at the theater includes contemporary American ballet, modern opera, classical, country, jazz and rock music. Top acts like
Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band
Dave Matthews Band
have performed here. The best Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion tickets are available at StubHub.
What is the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion's seating capacity?
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion can seat 16,500.
Is there parking nearby?
Located just a few miles from Interstate 45, the pavilion offers free parking on-site. The lots open 30 minutes before the gates open. The free lots are Blue, Green, Orange, White and Yellow. There is also paid parking in the Gold lot, but it's recommended that you reserve such spaces in advance as spaces are limited.
Is the venue a wheelchair-friendly facility?
If you or someone in your group uses a wheelchair by necessity to reach their seat, let a Pavilion staff member know. First Aid at the theater is ready to help escort guests with wheelchairs to their seats if necessary. It should be noted that wheelchairs can't be rented or given to guests for exclusive use during their event.
What food and drink items are offered at the theater?
Located in the North, South and Lawn plazas throughout the pavilion, concessions are provided by ARAMARK Sports and Entertainment. There are many options available for guests. There's more traditional fare like hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos and more. There are novelty items available like candy, funnel cakes, frozen lemonade and more. The venue serves Pepsi products but also offers a selection of craft beer, specialty cocktails and wine. There are desserts available, too, for those coming to an event following dinner.
What is the venue's child policy?
For the majority of contemporary and performing arts events at the theater, children who are five years old and under are admitted free to the lawn without a ticket when attending with an adult who has a ticket. For the reserved section, children who are two years old and under can sit free in the lap of an adult. There are exceptions to this policy like specific children's performances. In the case of the Children's Festival, children aged two and under can enter without a ticket.
What are the best seats in the pavilion?
Depending on how the artist wants the setup, the Pit Level is a general admission area that may offer reserved seating or a standing room section. These are the seats or spaces closest to the stage. Seats at the Front Reserved Level are also close to the performers but give you a physical seat. Your view will be better with more centrally located seat choices. Private boxes offer a more intimate experience with a view similar to that of the Front Reserved section. Those who want a guaranteed seat during the show but don't want to pay for a Front Reserved Level seat can select seating options in the back rows of the Rear Reserved Level. Seats here will allow you to see the stage and screens.
