The Diplomats TicketsThe Diplomats, nicknamed Dipset, is a hip-hop group that's been around since 1997. Founded by Cam'ron and Jim Jones, the group had a modest beginning. Then, Cam'ron made a big statement in 1998 when he released his first album Confessions of Fire, and The Diplomats made their first commercial appearance on his second album S.D.E. In 2001, the group signed with Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella Records. Their first album, Diplomatic Immunity, hit the stands in 2003. Their second album, Diplomatic Immunity 2, was released under the Koch Records label in 2004. For a few subsequent years, there were several rifts in the group. They ended up splitting up to pursue their own interests only to return together again in 2010. There were several ups and downs, and eventually, the single "Once Upon a Time" was released in 2017. Their third album, Diplomatic Ties, was released in 2018. Reunion The Diplomats concerts have taken place at The Manhattan Center and at the Apollo Theatre, and the group is actively touring. The Men of DipsetCam'ron and Jim Jones were the first members, bringing in their fellow childhood friend Freaky Zekey. Juelz Santana, another rapper from Harlem, joined the group in 1999. By 2004, they had gained several new members, including Hell Tell, 40 Cal and J.R. Writer. Jay Bezel, Katt Williams, and Jha Jha were later additions. For a time, things were not good among the members of The Diplomats: Cam'ron was busy with his own work, other members went off to form their own groups, and divisions were strong. All of this was public knowledge with the artists openly discussing and rapping about each other. Fortunately for their fans, they were able to put all of that behind them to begin touring again.
