The Districts tour dates
To think The Districts got their start playing in a burrito shop. Combining rock, indie and folk music to create their own unique sound, former high school classmates Rob Grote, Connor Jacobus and Braden Lawrence find themselves touring the world, including performances at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. The Districts have also played at the Governor's Ball in New York, along with artists like Skrillex and Sharon Van Etten.
The Districts' background
This American indie-rock band was formed in 2009, while the four members were still in high school. Arising out of a small town in Pennsylvania, The Districts have created a sound all their own. They self-released their first two EPs, Kitchen Songs in 2011 and While You Were in Honesdale in 2012, quickly followed by their first full-length album, Telephone.
After a live studio session went viral, their unique sound quickly caught the attention of Fat Possum Records - a label that has worked with The Black Keys, Cedell Davis, and The Walkmen. The record label loved their combination of indie- and blues-inspired rock, and they were quickly signed.
In 2015, The Districts released their second full-length album, A Flourish and a Spoil, which features the eight-and-a-half minute anthem "Young Blood." Their most recent album was produced by John Congleton, who has worked with artists like St. Vincent and The Roots.
The Districts' past performances and achievements
The Districts began by playing gigs across Philadelphia and Lancaster, Pa. In 2013, they were a featured performer at WXPN's XPoNential Music Festival. Since then, they have completed tours in Europe and Australia, in addition to numerous festivals, including Norway's Oya Festival, Ireland's Electric Picnic Festival and Germany's Haldern Pop Festival.
A Flourish and a Spoil, the band's second album, landed the No. 7 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and No.28 on the Top Independent Album chart.
