The Dives tour dates
New York City-based foursome The Dives are bringing to U.K. venues their own acclaimed version of rock-tinged power pop. Fresh from the NYC club circuit, The Dives' tour schedule is Britain-bound, with the young band celebrating another step on the road towards mainstream success. Energetic performances showcase catchy hooks, tight harmonies and excellent musicianship, building The Dives' momentum and fan base with every gig.
The Dives' background
The Dives comprise Evan Stanley and Mike Lefton, who share lead singer and guitarist duties, singer/bassist Sergio Ortega and singer/drummer Jimmy Meier. The band came together circa-2016, initially as a duo of Stanley and Lefton, who soon recruited Meier. Ortega sat in for a single show before the three existing members of The Dives asked him to be a permanent member of the band. In a matter of months since the band's inception, they were writing and performing original songs, plus pop-rock covers from the '60s, '70s and '80s, at venues throughout New York City. These early shows garnered favourable reviews, with critics noting all the band members' genuine musical talent, impressive vocal harmonies and enthusiastic rock 'n' roll swagger.
2017 will go down as a pivotal year for The Dives, with the band finishing their debut EP, recording their first two singles, "Take It All" and "Anticipation", and perfecting their on-stage sound and style. The Dives' Anticipation Tour sees them travel from their New York City home, to stages across the U.K., then back stateside for a full calendar of performances. The Dives also greet hoards of music fans at massive arenas while opening for KISS on the U.K. leg of their 2017 Kissworld Tour.
The Dives' musical mastery
All of The Dives' members have been musicians since childhood, and each adds his own noteworthy talents to the band's growing repertoire. Los Angeles-born Evan Stanley has rock 'n' roll in his blood - he's the son of legendary KISS frontman Paul Stanley. He studied at the NYU-Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and has played with renowned artists, including Buddy Guy, Eric Anderson and Pat Travers. Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Sergio Ortega joined The Dives after touring with Broadway star Ramin Karimloo as a guitarist and musical director. Ortega has also worked on Broadway and Off-Broadway productions and performed around the world, including with The Pretty Reckless. Mike Lefton has released his own EP, What Are We Waiting For, and has written for and performed with other artists, including Simon Kirke of Bad Company and Carmine Appice. In addition to his role in The Dives, Jimmy Meier has numerous mixing and producing credits to his name.
