Bringing back hard-driven guitar riffs and frantic rhythms, rising stars of indie The Hunna are the ones to watch in 2018. Debut single "Bonfire" lit up streaming platforms after its October 2015 release and with Lana Del Rey and Wolf Alice collaborator Tim Larcombe on production duty, they laid down a marker for whats to come. After a support slot opening for Coasts on their UK tour and the release of second single "We Could Be", the Hertfordshire four-piece performed at Reading and Leeds Festival and Dot-to-Dot Festival.
Debut album 100 landed in the UK top 20, before the band to the road to tour the UK, Europe, Australia and the USA. Grab The Hunna tickets at StubHub UK and make sure you see them live in 2018.
The Hunna: second album and new tour
Dan Dorney, Ryan Potter, Jack Metcalfe and Junate met through school and music college, bonding over their appreciation and love for music. Describing their sound as 'turn up rock', the group revitalise the guitar driven tracks so popular in the last decade, harking back to the best of bands such as Kings of Leon and Foals. Perhaps a little more surprising is their widely proclaimed love for hip hop and rap, apparently taking their name from rapper 2 Chainz's pronunciation of the number 100 and promising to give 100% in everything they do.
Working alongside producers Tim Larcombe and Dan Grech, the band released debut single "Bonfire" in October last year, shooting up the Spotify viral tracklist. Praised for its frenetic beats and anthemic sound, it quickly gained momentum and a rapidly growing following. They kicked off 2016 with a bang, with single "We Could Be" landing straight into the top 20 of the UK Spotify Viral charts, before debut album 100 peaked at number 13 in the UK album charts.
The band were due to release second album Dare in May 2018 - as well as begin a new UK tour - however, they chose to delay the album release and the tour after a number of their fans complained that the tour was mid-exam season.
