The Illegal Eagles Live Tour
The Illegal Eagles have long been considered the premium tribute band for the popular Californian soft-rock band the Eagles. The group's live performances of iconic Eagles' songs are regarded as "the nearest thing" to seeing Don Henley and co perform live. However, the group has been so well-loved that it has established its own following, and it is setting out yet again to bring some California flavor to the world.
Schedule
The Illegal Eagles have announced tour dates covering England, Scotland, and Wales. The group will bring West Coast vibes to small venues across multiple countries, playing classic songs such as "Take It Easy," "Desperado," and "Boys of Summer" and delighting everyone with Illegal Eagles tickets with their skillful, exciting stage performances.
Trivia
Al Vosper, the Illegal Eagles guitarist, is responsible for the band's name, suggesting a change from the original moniker of The Beagles.
Band
The Illegal Eagles consists of four founding members -- Phil Aldridge, Keith Atack, Vosper, and Darin Murphy -- plus Gregg Webb and Garreth Hicklin, who joined the band after the Illegal Eagles formation in 1997. Vosper recently return to the Illegal Eagles after a 14-year hiatus as a freelance musician. The Illegal Eagles -- of course -- play The Eagles' most-loved hits, which have an iconic, melodious, and definitely definitive sound.
Breakthrough
The band members were all well-seasoned session musicians and cover artists before the formation of the Illegal Eagles, with Aldridge and Murphy having collaborated previously on a band covering The Carpenters. Separately, group members have worked with artists as disparate as Paul Young, Joe Cocker, Lulu, The Beatles Experience, and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. The band fell into place when Aldridge placed an ad in Melody Maker, looking for musicians to supplement an Eagles project with Vosper in 1996.
Hit Albums
When it comes to live releases, the Illegal Eagles have been far more prolific than the original band. They offer six live albums readily available via their website, including recordings from gigs played during their recent, highly-successful tours. By comparison, The Eagles only released two live albums (14 years apart) and a total of seven studio albums during the lifespan of the group.
These Illegal Eagles live recordings have turned into hit albums among their fans. The songs on these records were recorded from shows the band has played during their most recent tours, including popular gigs such as Derby 2013, Skegness 2012, Bury St Edmunds 2012, and the Fall Tour 2010.
A quick listen to these records via the band's Facebook or Twitter accounts gives a taste of the fun and professionalism of the Illegal Eagles' performances.
Show Experience
The Illegal Eagles are a tight-knit group of highly-experienced members who are thoroughly comfortable on stage. They've toured constantly for the past 17 years, drawing praise from the Independent and the Express for their refined live sound.
Vocalists Aldridge and Hicklin faithfully reproduce the tight harmonies that first popularised the Eagles. Purchasing Illegal Eagles tickets is a way for fans -- both of the original band and the immensely popular tribute group -- to enjoy an exciting performance that always begs for audience participation and plenty of sing-alongs to favourite songs. Ready your vocal chords -- you better be ready to chime in when the Illegal Eagles play the opening chords to "Hotel California."
