They got their start as original cast members of the smash hit Broadway musical Jersey Boys. Now the all-male singing group The Midtown Men can been seen and heard all across the country. Featuring a lineup of songs from the '60s a la The Four Seasons, the quartet is known for its intricate harmonies and crowd-charming stage presence.
The Midtown Men's history
The stars of The Midtown Men are singers/actors Christian Hoff, J. Robert Spencer, Michael Longoria and Daniel Reichard.
Hoff is a Tony Award winner from San Francisco who played Tommy DeVito, one of the founding members of the Four Seasons, in Jersey Boys. He was named the "Best Featured Actor in a Musical" at the 2006 Tony Awards. Impressively, it was his first performance in a Broadway show.
Spencer played another Four Seasons member, Nick Massi. He is also known for starring in the Broadway musical Next To Normal, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical.
Longoria originally played Joey and later took on the role of lead singer Frankie Valli. He has also released an album of musical-theater classics as a solo artist, and he appeared in Hairspray on Broadway.
|Reichard starred in the role of the Four Seasons' youngest member and principal songwriter Bob Gaudio. He has also performed in the New York City Opera production of Candide and the New York City institution that is Forbidden Broadway.|
The Midtown Men are the first musical group formed by the principal cast of a major Broadway show. They gave themselves the name of "The Midtown Men" in 2013, and they've been performing together as a four-piece group ever since. They've played thousands of shows at performing arts centers and symphony halls across America. They've released one album: The Midtown Men: Sixties Hits, which features the single "All Alone on Christmas."
The Midtown Men's biggest showIn 2015, they returned to the home of the characters they played in Jersey Boys to give a concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The PBS channel broadcasted their live show on nationwide TV as part of a documentary about the group, directed by award-winning filmmaker Chiemi Karasawa.
