The Russian Grand Ballet's Swan Lake Tickets
The Russian Grand Ballet
The Russian Grand Ballet is a classical ballet dance troupe that has traveled the world for decades, delighting audiences with their elegant performances. The institution was founded by graduates of the Great Russian choreographic schools of Kiev, Moscow and St. Petersburg. Led by Ballet Master Vladimir Troshchenko, the Russian Grand Ballet tours internationally, performing such well-known classic presentations as Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty. With over fifty dancers in the troupe, each ballet is a magnificent presentation of perfectly synchronized movements.
The well-known ballet Swan Lake was originally fashioned from Russian folk tales. The classic story of Odette, the princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse, is known the world over. It opens with Prince Siegfried celebrating his birthday, which is spoiled when his mother insists that he choose a wife. He broods, as he was hoping to wait and marry someone he loves. To cheer him up, his friends suggest they go swan hunting. When Prince Siegfried is accidentally separated from his friends, he comes upon a group of swans and is stunned to see one transform into a human woman. She explains that she and her companions are victims of a terrible curse. She is actually a princess. The pair falls in love and through a series of complicated events, Siegfried is viciously tricked. To escape the consequences of this deceit, he and Odette leap into the lake together.
The Sleeping Beauty
The Sleeping Beauty is a timeless ballet that tells the tale of Princess Aurora, who was cursed on the day of her christening by an evil fairy. The curse demands that Aurora will prick her finger on a spindle on her sixteenth birthday and die. One of the good fairies alters the curse so that instead of death, Aurora will only sleep for one hundred years. In an effort to stave off the predicted incident, the kingdom prohibits any item resembling a spindle. However, on Aurora’s sixteenth birthday a stranger arrives and offers a gift. As the princess opens the present, she pricks her finger on it. The gift bearer was the evil fairy, and the gift, of course, was the spindle.
