About The Secret Sisters
The Secret Sisters is a highly esteemed musical duo that is fronted by real life sister duo Lydia and Laura Rogers. Hailing from Alabama, the sisters would be immersed in music from a young age, singing and performing alongside in family bands as they explored the deep musical history of the American country music movement. The sisters would be trained in various musical disciplines, learning both vocals and instruments which they would practice at performances with their local church choir.
The Secret Sisters would strike gold in 2010, then Laura Roger made her way to the country music mecca of Nashville, Tennessee, to audition for a record deal for big wig country producers Dave Cobb and Andrew Brightman. Laura would capture the eyes, ears, and heart of the execs, with her later bringing Lydia along for a second audition that would earn them their first shot at the musical mainstream. The two recorded various demo tracks and soon were recording their debut self titled album on the Universal Republic record label.
The Sisters' debut would light up music charts and invade airwaves all across the country, with the duo integrating a wide range of classic country sounds into their work, earning a reputation for delivering a refreshing twist to the tried and true old country sound. Their work would also make its way onto the Hunger Games soundtrack, with the band spending the former half of the '10s becoming one of the most influential and highly watched country acts of the decade.
The band returned to their Los Angeles, California studio to pen their highly anticipated follow up album, again wowing fans across the country with their trailblazing, innovative sound. Now two albums and countless singles later, The Secret Sisters continue to strongly carry the neotraditional country music banner into the future.
The Secret Sisters' debut self titled album would make waves throughout the music world, with the album breaching the US Billboard 200 and climbing to the #27, #3, and #8 positions on the US Country, US Heatseekers, and US Folk charts, respectively. The album would also be a success across the pond in the United Kingdom, with the album receiving rave reviews from critics including a 4 out of 5 star rating from Rolling Stone and an 8 out of 10 from PopMatters. The album featured several instant classic Secret Sisters singles, including "Why Baby Why", "My Heart Skips a Beat", "Somethin' Stupid", and "Why Don't You Love Me".
The Sisters would live up to near limitless hype as they dropped their sophomore album Put Your Needle Down in 2014, with the album climbing to the #110 position on the US Billboard 200, #3 on the US Folk chart, and #1 on the US Heatseekers chart. The album would be their second release on Universal Republic Records, and featured the production tutelage of T-Bone Burnett who create a laundry list of Secret Sisters hits including "Let There Be Lonely", "Rattle My Bones", "Dirty Lie", "If I Don't", and "Bad Habit".
The duo have produced just one music video to date, a David McClister production for their single "Tennessee Me". The album received regular airplay via some of the biggest country music outlets across the country.
The band's Hunger Games soundtrack single, "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder", was a stirring tribute to the rash of tornado outbreaks across Alabama in 2011.
