The Used is a popular emo band that came out of Utah. All of the band's releases have charted on the Billboard 200. The group regularly joins festival cycles such as the Vans Warped Tour and Ozzfest. The Used has released seven studio albums to date and is in talks to release another by the end of 2019.
Taking It Away
The Used formed in Orem, Utah, in 2001. Within a year of formation, The Used recorded a demo and got signed. Less than six months later, the Used released a self-titled debut studio album. The platinum-selling album peaked at No. 63 on the Billboard 200 charts. The Used contains many fan-favorite songs including "The Taste of Ink," "Buried Myself Alive" and "A Box Full Of Sharp Objects." Between albums, The Used released a compilation CD/DVD titled Maybe Memories, which was also certified platinum. The 2004 follow-up album remained a platinum seller and this time peaked at No. 6. Titled In Love And Death, the heartbreaking album references the death of McCracken's pregnant girlfriend. The album produced the four singles "Take It Away," "All That I've Got," "I Caught Fire" and "Under Pressure." The cover of "Under Pressure" was a collaboration with My Chemical Romance. In 2007, The Used released the gold-selling live DVD Berth followed by the third studio album Lies For The Liars. The gold-certified album peaked in the highest position yet at No. 5. Both singles from the album "The Bird and the Worm" and "Pretty Handsome Awkward" were well-received. 2008 brought a full-length EP that featured all of the band's B-Sides. The following year, The Used released Artwork, which peaked at No. 10. It contains the highly successful single "Blood On My Hands." 2010 brought yet another top 10 album for The Used when Vulnerable peaked at No. 8. The three singles "I Come Alive," "Put Me Out" and "Hands and Faces" were produced from the album. 2014's Imaginary Enemy peaked at No. 14. The album only produced one single titled "Cry." In celebration of the band's 15th anniversary, The Used released a live acoustic album in 2016. 2017's The Canyon was highly enjoyed by fans and critics alike yet only peaked at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 charts. The album produced the single "Over And Over Again." The Used intends to release the eighth studio album by the end of 2019, but further information on the upcoming album has yet to be revealed.

Who are the members of The Used?
Lead singer and pianist Bert McCracken, as well as bassist Jeph Howard, are original members of The Used who remain with the band to this day. Dan Whitesides joined as the band's drummer back in 2006. Guitarist Joey Bradford is the most recent new member, having joined in 2018.Back to Top
