Timmy Trumpet Tickets
A house music DJ and record producer, Timmy Trumpet is originally from Sydney in Australia. Born in 1982, the musician made his name working in the large clubs of Ibiza, where he would famously play trumpet solos over his choice of records. Employing his skills as a jazz trumpet player, Timmy Trumpet began to make a name for himself in the so-called Melbourne Bounce style of dance music, although he was equally known for his hardstyle sets. Combining live musical performances with traditional DJ skills, Timmy Trumpet is one of the foremost performers of his type to come from the southern hemisphere.
Timmy Trumpet's career milestones
Born Timothy Jude Smith, the DJ attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as a child. He was schooled for a spell by members of the city's symphony orchestra. However, when he entered the mainstream schooling system, Smith discovered a love for jazz music rather than the classics, and went on to get involved with house music soon after.
Having adopted his stage name and following a move to Europe, Timmy Trumpet began performing in many cities across the continent, including London. However, his musical home was Ibiza, where he entertained large crowds of house music fans, both with his DJ skills and his trumpet blowing. In December 2009, the musician's first EP came out. Entitled Sunrise, it was made available for digital download only on Central Station Records.
In 2011, the DJ had a number of tracks put out by Onelove, the Ministry of Sound and Neon Underground. This led to two singles of note in that year. The first was called “Trrrumpet” and the second was “Horny”, a collaboration with DJ Tenzin, which got to number five in the Australian charts. He supported Stevie Wonder on the Australian leg of his world tour around this time, too. The Ministry of Sound also featured his work in one of their compilation albums that year, Electro House Sessions 4, which gained him a wider audience. Another key event of 2011 was the announcement that Timmy Trumpet had been booked to open shows for Swedish House Mafia during their tour of Australia.
In 2012, Timmy Trumpet was booked by Future Entertainment to take the headline slot at their Future Music Festival. This meant he would appear above the likes of Jessie J, Fatboy Slim and Tinie Tempah. The DJ has since gone on to play major dance music stages all over the world, including Tomorrowland in Belgium and Stereosonic in his home country. In 2014, his single “Freaks” reached the top spot in New Zealand and got to number three in Australia.
