Toledo Rockets Tickets
The Toledo Rockets took to the field for the first time in 1917 under the guidance of Coach John Brandeberry. Unlike most college sports teams, the original lineup for the Toledo Rockets formed when a group of students purchased some uniforms on their own from a sporting goods establishment. They then planned a game against the University of Detroit Titans, and Brandeberry stepped in to referee the match. The Rockets lost without scoring a single goal, but the two teams did settle their debts. The University of Detroit Mercy ended its football program in 1964. When everything started out, the team did not have a nickname. After some long touchdowns in a 1923 game, the team officially got the name the “ ”Rockets.“ ” The team went through several coaches over the next few years, but most of them managed to help turn the Rockets into an excellent college football program in their own ways. The Rockets have remained a force in football ever since. Grab your Toledo Rockets tickets at StubHub.
