Toledo Walleye TicketsThe city of Toledo has a long, rich association with ice hockey that dates back to 1947 when the Toledo Mercurys was first founded as a member of the International Hockey League. The team finished its inaugural season as Turner Cup champions in 1948 and then proceeded to win back-to-back championships over Grand Rapids in 1951 and 1952. After the Mercurys folded, Toledo acquired a new team in 1963 called the Blades, which won the Turner Cup in 1964 and 1967. More championships followed in 1975, 1978, 1982 and 1983 with a new name: the Goaldiggers. The team’s final season in 1986 marked the end of the city’s association with the IHL. The birth of the Storm in 1992, however, began a new relationship with the East Coast Hockey League. The team captured back-to-back championships in 1993 and 1994. After 2007, the team closed shop for two years and then returned as today’s team, the Toledo Walleye. In its best-ever regular-season finish, the Walleye took home both the 2015 and 2017 Brabham Cups for the best regular-season record. Pick up your Toledo Walleye tickets at StubHub.
