Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Tickets
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers churned out rock classics beginning in the mid-’70s, the kind of endless summer FM radio staples that kept us singing along and coming back for more. “American Girl.” “Breakdown.” “Refugee.” “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.” The list goes on. Featuring a lineup that has virtually remained unchanged over the years —Petty, guitarist Mike Campbell, keyboardist Benmont Tench, bassist Ron Blair, guitarist Scott Thurston and drummer Steve Ferrone — built up a prolific archive of 13 albums. Petty also enjoyed a successful solo career. Before his days with the Heartbreakers, Petty played in bands like The Epics, Mudcrutch, and The Sundowners. Mudcrutch consisted not only of Petty, but also of future Heartbreakers' members Campbell and Tench. In 1975, Mudcrutch disbanded, leaving a void for the Heartbreakers to fill. They immediately got to work on their first album, and were surprised to find that they had great initial success in the UK with hits like "Anything That's Rock n Roll.” The band eventually found its foothold in the U.S., and before they knew it, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were performing in front of sold-out crowds across the country.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have sold more than 80 million albums worldwide. Several of their albums have gone platinum or multi-platinum, including Damn the Torpedoes (1979), Hard Promises (1981), Southern Accents (1985), Let Me Up (I've Had Enough) (1987), and Into the Great Wide Open (1991). The band's 1993 Greatest Hits album went on to be certified diamond in the U.S., and platinum and gold in several other countries.
