She has been a head coach for 29 seasons, with 26 of those seasons at Tulane University. As head coach of the Tulane University women’s basketball team, her overall career record is impressive. Presently, her collegiate career record is at 571-301 with a winning percentage of .654. Since her tenure at Tulane University, Stockton’s record is 508-274 with conference play at 227-161. Stockton was honored with Coach of the Year awards in 1995, 2007 and 2010. The Green Wave Basketball team has enjoyed great success with 11 NCAA and 7 WNIT appearances under Stockton’s leadership, and 20 women basketball players became members of the exclusive 1,000-point club.

Where does the Tulane Green Wave women's team play?Home to the basketball and volleyball teams, the Avron B. Fogelman Arena inside the Devlin Fieldhouse underwent remodeling in 2012 when Tulane beat Louisiana Tech 66 to 59. Established in 1933, the arena is 85 years old. Upgrades included new bleachers, upgraded restrooms, concession stands, new lighting to enhance television production and a remodeled coach’s corner. The lobby and ticket booth areas also received new flooring. The Fogelman Arena hosted the NCAA Final Four in 1982 and the Conference USA Women’s Basketball Tournament in 1999 and again in 2009.
