On June 14, 2019, Jason Gill was named head baseball coach for the USC Trojans. Coach Gill brings a plethora of coaching experience to USC with him after being the head coach at Loyola Marymount for 11 seasons. During his time there, Gill posted a 322–286–1 overall record and led the Loyola Marymount Lions to the final round of the Los Angeles Regionals of the College World Series. Gill also played in the College World Series in 1994 as a member of the Cal State Fullerton team. Gill's Lions saw 25 players selected in the MLB draft and three players make it onto Major League rosters during his nine seasons at Loyola.
