V-103, a radio station owned by Entercom, markets itself as "The People's Station." Nielsen Audio often ranks the station No.1 in the Atlanta market because of its popularity and high ratings. V-103 Live hosts concerts that honor the area's local music scene. On March 30, 2019, from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, the concert titled "V-103 LIVE: An Evening With MAXWELL Featuring KEM!" took place.V-103 Live and Its Unchanged Frequency
V-103 entered the airwaves on July 1, 1948, as WAGA-FM. It played country music. In the '60s, the station underwent a name change to WPLO-FM, with the frequency set at 103.3 MHz. The station decided to focus on students attending Georgia State University, so in 1969 the station used the slogan, "Atlanta's alternative high." In the '70s, the demographics shifted, and by 1974 country music once again ruled its airwaves. Two years later, the WPLO-FM call sign permanently changed to WVEE-FM, though the frequency remained unchanged, - even 40 years later. This shift cemented the radio station's place in history; it became the first urban FM station. Additionally, the station's brand name has remained unchanged for more than 40 years. To compete with other stations, in 2003 WVEE added hip-hop music to its playlist. While V-103 has a reputation of changing its slogan based on its market dominance, it permanently reverted back to the original one in Nov 2013. The station has a secondary slogan of "The ATL's #1 for hip-hop and R&B!" Both slogans complement the musical events V-103 Live sponsors.Where can I buy V-103 Live tickets?
