Quite possibly the most successful solo violinist of modern times
Born in 1978, Vanessa-Mae started learning violin at the age of four. When she was just 13 years old, she was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for being the youngest person to record the violin concertos of both Tchaikovsky and Beethoven, which were released in 1991 as her third studio album. Not content to be just a fantastic classical violinist, she began to work on a fusion of classical and pop music that would eventually see her become a global sensation. Her first pop album, "The Violin Player", came out in 1995 when she was aged just 16. Although some die-hard classical music fans didn’t appreciate the change in direction, it struck a chord with millions of people all over the world. As well as being Gold and Platinum-certified in more than ten countries, it reached the Top 20 in a multitude of album charts (including hitting Number One in Austria). She has been putting out wonderful music and playing to fans across the world ever since. If you have a ticket but can’t make the show, you can always use StubHub to sell a Vanessa-Mae ticket.
