Who is the head coach of the Hokies?The head coach of the Virginia Tech women's basketball program is Kenny Brooks, who became the team's seventh head coach on March 28, 2016. The 2019-2020 campaign marks Brooks' fourth season with the Hokies. Under Brooks' leadership, the Lady Hokies have achieved three consecutive 20-win seasons with a trip to the WNIT at the end of each season. In 2018, the team made it to the WNIT championship game. Brooks led his team to 15 straight wins at the start of the 2016-2017 season, the Hokies' best start to a season in 18 years. The Lady Hokies that year made it to No. 15 in the AP Poll. Brooks won his 400th career game in 2019 against Wake Forest in Greensboro; the Lady Hokies beat the Demon Deacons 85-63 at the ACC Tournament.

How big is Cassell Coliseum?Cassell Coliseum, named for 1932 alumnus Stuart Kent Cassell, is a 229,297 square-foot facility. Inside is a 10,052-seat basketball arena, two auxiliary gymnasiums, locker rooms, offices and other athletic facilities. Construction on the central portion of the coliseum began in 1961. It wasn't completed until 1964 even though it began to be used in 1962. There were additions added in 1984 and 1998. Aside from athletic games, the venue has also been used for commencement exercises, concerts, presidential inaugurations, speeches, tournaments and more. The roof is supported by laminated wood arches. While big capacity crowds aren't unusual at Cassell Coliseum, the biggest ever crowd was 11,500 for Purdue on December 3rd, 1966.
