The Von Braun Center includes the Von Braun Center Arena, which houses mostly sporting events, and the Von Braun Center Concert Hall, which hosts all manner of performing arts events, including concerts, plays, ballets and more. The center is located in Huntsville, Ala. It opened in 1975 and was called the Von Braun Civic Center until 1997 when it lost the "Civic" from its name. The center is used for numerous local events, such as high school graduations and local arts and crafts fairs, but there have also been many great musicians on stage there, too, including Elvis, who played five back-to-back shows there in June 1975. Other notable performances at the VBC include Bob Dylan, Prince, 2 Chainz and The Temptations. You can find your Von Braun Center Concert Hall tickets for upcoming shows at StubHub.
What is the seating capacity of the concert hall?
While the entire VBC complex - both the concert hall and the arena - seats a total of 10,000 people, the Von Braun Center Concert Hall seating capacity is only 1,955. Some events that are expected to draw larger crowds are held in the VBC arena instead.
Is the venue wheelchair friendly?
There is seating available for patrons in wheelchairs as well as tickets for companion seats for up to three people who'd like to join them. However, because of the limited availability of these seats, patrons are encouraged to purchase their tickets as early as possible so that they don't miss out on them.
How early can I show up for a performance at the concert hall?
Doors for Von Braun Center Concert Hall events open exactly one hour before the announced starting time of any given show. For example, doors for an 8 p.m. performance will open at 7 p.m. for seating.
Will I have to buy an extra ticket for my young child?
For most events, children under the age of 2 do not require their own tickets as long as they are sitting in the lap of a parent; however, if you would like your young child to have his or her own seat, you will have to purchase a ticket for him or her. Always check the age policy on each individual event because shows geared toward youngsters do often require a ticket for every member of the family, no matter the age.
What is the policy in case of an event cancellation due to bad weather?
All performances at the VBC are what are known as "Rain or Shine" shows, meaning, in most cases, shows are not cancelled due to the weather. If a show is postponed, the original tickets can be transferred to the new show's date and time.Back to Top
