Walk The Moon Tickets
Walk The Moon TicketsIn 2006 Nicholas Petricca, then a student at Kenyon College, launched his band Walk The Moon. The band's first album, I Want! I Want! was independently released in 2010, and it received some airplay on alternative stations. Walk The Moon's song "Anna Sun" caught peoples attention, with Alt Nation naming them a "Band You Need to Know" in the summer of 2012. RCA Records signed Walk The Moon in February of 2011, and its self-titled album Walk The Moon was released in June 2012. After their second major studio album, Talking is Hard, went mainstream, Walk The Moon's song"Shut Up and Dance" hit No. 4 on the Billboard Top 100 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Rock Songs and Alternative Songs charts.
Walk The Moon's Face Painting TraditionA lot of bands and performers have incorporated makeup into their performances or look. Kiss, David Bowie, Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson have all used makeup to create stage personas. Walk The Moon has taken face makeup to another level. In 2011, band members began to paint their faces before live performances. The band would also bring pant to share with the audience so everyone could make their faces up. This has become a beloved tradition at Walk The Moon concerts. This extra bit of fun at Walk The Moon shows is not surprising, since the band is known for its energetic and tireless performances. Walk The Moon's enjoyment of color evinced in their face painting carries over to the band's music videos, which contain vivid colors and many neon lights. Band members often dress in 1980s-style clothing, and Walk The Moon's music has a definite 1980s flair. This is unsurprising since Walk The Moon's influences include Talking Heads, The Police, David Bowie, Phil Collins and Tears for Fears. They have been nominated for 14 awards and have won the 2016 ASCAP Pop Music Awards Vanguard Award, the 2016 Billboard Music Awards for Top Radio Song and Top Rock song and the 2018 New Music Awards TOP40 New Group of the Year Award.
