Windsor Spitfires TicketsThe Windsor Spitfires is a major junior hockey team that serves as a development program for young players up to the age of 20. Named after the infamous British aircraft, which was used by the Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII, the team was originally a member of the Ontario Hockey Association between 1945 and 1953. Seventeen years after its demise, the team returned to life as a member of the Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League. Then in 1975, the Spitfires began a long association with the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League, the predecessor of the OHL. The team won its first-ever league title in the 1988 season, then made history in 2009 and 2010 by winning back-to-back OHL titles and Memorial Cup championships. Awarded to the best team in Canadian major junior hockey, the Memorial Cup is a four-team tournament involving the winners of the OHL, WHL, QJMHL and a preselected host. Windsor won another Memorial Cup in 2017. Although the team did not win the OHL title that year, it did participate as the host of the tournament. Windsor Spitfires tickets are available at StubHub, a leading source for live events.
