Wolf Alice is a British alternative rock band, initially formed as an acoustic duo by Ellie Rowsell and Joff Oddie in 2010. While its sound initially skewed toward the folk end of the spectrum, the 2012 addition of more electronic instruments nudged it further down the alt-rock line. Its tunes have appeared in numerous films and television shows in the past decade, namely The Royals and the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters. As influences, Rowsell has listed Siouxsie and the Banshees and Courtney Love of Hole among others. Its sophomore album, Visions of a Life, won the coveted Mercury Prize in 2018. Wolf Alice frequently offers fans opportunities to see them perform live in concert.
A Sound That's Anything But "Fluffy"
Lead vocalist and guitarist Rowsell and backup guitarist Oddie joined forces in 2010, taking the name Wolf Alice from a short story by Angela Carter. Shortly thereafter, the band would take on two new members: bassist Sadie Cleary and drummer James DC, thereby giving its sound a harder, more polished edge. However, in 2012, the drummer broke his wrist and Cleary decided to leave the band to focus on her studies. They were later replaced by Theo Ellis on bass and Joel Amey on drums, enabling Wolf Alice to release its debut single, "Fluffy," in 2013. Other promising singles, such as "Bros," "You're a Germ" and "Giant Peach" would follow. In 2016, Wolf Alice received a Grammy nod for Best Rock Performance for "Moaning Lisa Smile," a track from its 2014 EP Creature Songs.

What can I expect from a Wolf Alice concert?
Lead vocalist Rowsell has a commanding stage presence and a searing voice, but the instruments share top billing for the majority of Wolf Alice's live performances. Bassist Ellis, in particular, is prone to mugging for the audience, with riffs that extend for minutes on end. Since its discography is relatively limited, you can expect to hear standbys such as "Bros," "Don't Delete The Kisses," "Silk" and "Yuk Foo."
How long does a Wolf Alice concert usually last?
You can expect Wolf Alice to be onstage for just over an hour. If the band is playing as part of a double bill with another act, plan on spending at least two and a half hours at the venue.
What types of venues does Wolf Alice usually play at?
In the past, Wolf Alice has appeared at a wide variety of venues, from First Avenue in Minneapolis to the Metro Chicago. As the band becomes better-known-particularly following its 2018 Mercury Prize for Visions of a Life-you can expect its popularity to soar, meaning it could be appearing mainly at larger-capacity stadiums the next time it hits the touring circuit.
