Worcester Sharks History
The Worcester Sharks franchise was founded in in 1996 as the Kentucky Thoroughblades, though quite a bit has changed since then. The team was renamed the Cleveland Barons in 2001 before becoming the Worcester Sharks in 2006, making the transition to Massachusetts and instantly finding a home with the local hockey fans. The Sharks won their first division title during the 2009-10 season, and the team is looking to capture another division title this time around as they look to play up to their potential in another season in which absolutely anything can happen.
