World Series Tickets
Who won the 2019 World Series?
World Series Tickets
There’s something about October baseball. The long (and sometimes winding) road of 162 games coming down to one last winner-take-all matchup. The chill in the air, the nerves, the excitement, the season hanging in the balance. That’s why World Series tickets have long been such a coveted commodity. It’s an opportunity to see Major League Baseball history in the making, to witness the unscripted: Babe Ruth’s called shot in ’32; Willie Mays’ all-but-impossible, back-to-the-infield basket catch in ’54; Bill Mazeroski’s walk-off heroics against the New York Yankees in ’60; Carlton Fisk’s drive just inside the left-field foul pole in ’75; the grounder that found its way under Bill Buckner’s glove in ’86; Kirk Gibson’s fist-pumping shot off Dennis Eckersley in the ’88 Series. It’s the stuff of baseball legend; stories that will be shared among baseball fans for generations to come. And you can say you were there. At StubHub, MLB tickets are always at your fingertips.
World Series History
The first-ever World Series was played between the Boston Americans and Pittsburgh Pirates back in 1903, Boston having walked away with the title five games to three. The Fall Classic has followed a best-of-seven-game format ever since, but the tradition remains the same. The National League Champion vs. American League Champion showdown has been the highlight of each and every Major League Baseball season since that turn-of-the-century matchup. The New York Yankees hold the mark for most World Series titles at 27 (making them the most successful organization in sports), followed by the St. Louis Cardinals (11), Oakland A’s (9), Boston Red Sox (9) and San Francisco Giants (8).
World Series Fan Experience: Take Me Out to the Ballgame
What would the World Series be without the towel-waving, Thundersticks-clapping, Rally Monkey-clutching crowds that fill the stands each October when baseball’s two best teams face off for the Commissioner’s Trophy? There’s nothing like witnessing a World Series game in person. Just ask the 346,702 rabid fans who attended the 2017 Fall Classic, which went seven games and saw the Astros break through to their first World Championship title. They saw two presidents (George W. and George H. Bush) combine to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, appearances by former Brooklyn Dodgers greats Sandy Koufax and Don Newcombe, and even a flyover by an F-16 Fighting Falcon. World Series memories never fade; now it’s time to make some of your own. Grab World Series tickets at StubHub.
