Zak Abel Tickets
A singer and songwriter from the UK, Zak Abel is the stage name of Zak Zilesnick. Born in 1995, the musician first found fame when he featured on a song by Gorgon City called “Unmissable”. The electronic music track was a single taken from the band’s debut studio album, Sirens. When it came out in the summer of 2014, the song went on to become a top 20 hit for the group, bringing Abel to the attention of many for the first time. Abel mixes different styles of music to achieve his distinctive sound. As well as soul and R 'n' B, Abel is capable of producing pure pop music, as well as tropical house and electronica. The songwriter also occasionally uses elements of highlife, the Ghanaian rhythmic popular music, in his work.
Zak Abel's career milestones
Abel studied at University College School, an independent seat of education in Northwest London, before embarking on his career in music. A year after leaving school, he achieved his first success, the aforementioned hit with Gorgon City. Thereafter, Abel has operated as a solo performer, often collaborating with some of the best producers on the London underground music scene. In 2014, he put out his debut single, a track called “These Are the Days”, which was a standalone release. The following year, he started a collaboration with Joker and put out an EP entitled Joker Presents Zak Abel. “Wise Enough”, a track on which the two worked together, was put out as a single around this time.
Later in 2015, Abel put out another extended play recording. One Hand in the Future was an EP that cemented Abel’s position as a new songwriter with commercial appeal, in the eyes of many music critics. Single releases from 2015 included “Say Sumthin”. In 2016, the performer returned with a new single called “Everybody Needs Love”. At this time, Abel was starting to work with producers such as Wookie and Kaytranada, otherwise known as Louis Kevin Celestin, on his debut album.
Released in October of 2017, Only When We’re Naked got into the UK album charts at number 100 when it was first released. The album featured the co-writing skills of people such as Guy Chambers, perhaps best known for the string of hits he wrote for Robbie Williams, as well as his work for Kylie Minogue and Mark Ronson, among others. Tracks such as “Rock Bottom” featured well-known hip-hop artists, such as Wretch 32. “All I Ever Do (Is Say Goodbye)” and “The River” were both put out as singles to promote the album.
