What is Zoo Brew?
The Zoo Brew is an annual event at the Detroit Zoo featuring beer tastings from Michigan breweries. It includes food, live music and access to the Zoo’s exhibits. The zoo’s award-winning habitats are available for guests’ viewing until twilight.
In 2011, the Detroit Zoo began the annual Zoo Brew event for people who are 21 years of age and older. Tickets sell out several weeks in advance of each event. Zoo Brew begins after the regular zoo hours and continues into the evening. Local bands belt out fun and familiar tunes throughout the event.
Zoo Brew, which showcases Michigan’s growing craft beer scene, is popular among both locals and tourists. Find selections of unique beer from such breweries as Witch’s Hat Brewing Company, Frankenmuth Brewery, Bell’s Brewery, New Holland Brewing Co., Right Brain Brewery, Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales and Short’s Brewing Company.
