CBE Classic Schedule
Some of the best teams in college basketball will take to the court in Kansas City this fall
to play one another in the 2014 CBE Classic. This tournament includes 12 teams that play for the right to be a part of the
final few games, which will be played at the Spirit Center on November 24th and 25th this year. Fans will pack into the Spirit
Center to see these teams battle it out on the court, and nothing is more exciting that seeing top teams in a tournament setting.

The CBE Classic will feature some good teams, one of which is the Iowa State Cyclones. The Cyclones are
coming off one of the best season in school history, and they would love to use this tournament to catapult them into another
successful campaign. The Arizona State Sun Devils will are be participating in this year's tourney, and they're hoping to
put together a banner season in 2014-15. The Pac-12 makes for a tough road, but the Sun Devils look up to the challenge. Make
sure to be there in the stands when these top teams and the rest of the competitors take to the court for the 2014 CBE Classic.
CBE Classic History
First played in 2001, the CBE Classic was first named the Guardian's Classic, then the CBE
Classic, but has been known as the CBE Hall of Fame Classic since 2012. The two week tournament features twelve teams, with
the first round being held regionally at campus' across the country. The winners travel to Kansas City the following week
for the final four teams to square off to determine which two teams will play in the Championship Game and which two will
compete in the Consolation Game. This incredible two-week event is the very best tournament of the preseason and you will
not want to miss the opportunity to watch great college basketball players of today play in the hall that celebrates the greatness
of yesterday. Every year adds to the already rich history of this event.
Since 2001, an
incredible preseason tournament has ushered in the new college basketball season, pitting twelve teams from twelve different
conferences against each other, offering college basketball fans matchups seen nowhere else in the sport. Top tier conferences
take on smaller conferences, proving that any team can beat the other on any given night. The 2013 CBE Hall of Fame Classic
featured a Championship Game that saw the Wichita State Shockers of the Missouri Valley Conference against the BYU Cougars
of the West Coast Conference. Other former CBE Hall of Fame Classic winners include Kansas, Missouri, Creighton, UCLA and
Syracuse. It has been a very long offseason and fans will be thrilled to finally get the new season started and you can be
one of the lucky few to experience this action live from the Sprint Center in Kansas City. The field will be extremely competitive
again in 2014 with marquee teams like the Arizona Sun Devils and Maryland Terps, so make this the year that you finally make
the trip to the CBE Hall of Fame Classic and a visit to the National College Hall of Fame, where you will experience the history
and tradition of this amazing sport.
CBE Classic Trivia
Three teams have won the CBE Classic twice over
the years; can you name them?
The answers are the Texas Longhorns, Creighton Bluejays and Missouri Tigers. The Tigers
actually won this tournament the first time id was held, defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes by a score of 78-77. The Tigers won the
event again in 2011 when they wiped the floor with the Cal Bears 92-53. The Bluejays won the second CBE Classic in 2002, taking
down the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 80-75. Creighton emerged victorious yet again just two years later when they
took down the Ohio State Buckeyes in an overtime thriller. The Texas Longhorns first took home the trophy at the CBE Classic
in 2005 when they took down Iowa. They won the event again in 2009 when Texas was able to outdo the Pittsburgh Panthers by
a score of 78-62.
