2014-2015 Clemson Tigers Basketball Schedule

There's nothing quite like being in the middle of a great game loaded with some of the most talented basketball players in the country, and that's exactly what tends to happen as the Tigers of Clemson battle it out on the hardwood with all of the top teams and players in the ACC. Yup, this is big boy basketball at its absolute finest and the Tigers are always in the middle of one intense matchup or another, which makes for a season's worth of incredible moments that will have you on the edge of your seat in no time. The schedule is completely loaded with great matchups against both conference powerhouses and talented out-of-conference foes, giving you plenty of opportunities to head out and join in the rim-rocking excitement.

Clemson is coming off a good 2013-2014 season that had them finish towards the top of the ACC standings but miss out on the NCAA Tournament and make it all the way to the NIT semifinals. The always challenging ACC causes the Tigers to take on many of the best teams in college basketball, including traditional powerhouses North Carolina, Duke, and recent additions like Louisville and Syracuse. You can be sure that the Tigers will enter the 2014-2015 season with a chip on their shoulder after being left out of the NCAA Tournament last season and will be looking to exact revenge on some of the teams that defeated them in the conference last time around.

Littlejohn Coliseum is usually absolutely filled to the brim with excited fans come game-time, and that's a tradition that isn't likely to end any time in the near future. If you've never been out to the Coliseum for a big game, you have absolutely no idea what you've been missing, as there is nothing quite like being in the stands when the game is on the line and the clock is dwindling late in the fourth quarter. It's not only about the home games, however, as you'll see that this is a great fan base that shows up in a very big way whenever the Tigers are on the road as well. Either way, anything can happen in 2014-2015, making it a great time to be a Tigers backer.

Clemson Tigers Basketball Team Info

The Tigers have seen some incredible athletes hit the floor in the name of Clemson, perhaps none more heralded than Larry Nance. Nance put together an impressive collegiate career for the Tigers before moving on to play on the pro level in the National Basketball Association. Other notable Clemson players to move on to the NBA include Horace Grant, Elden Campbell and Dale Davis, and you never know when the next great player is going to burst onto the scene with a banner game or season that has everyone around campus buzzing. After putting together some nice wins in 2013-2014, the Tigers are looking to prove that they have the talent to do even more this time around, helping to create quite a stir around campus as the Tigers look to take their game to the next level.

The NCAA Basketball Experience

These are some of the best amateur athletes in the entire world, though that's something that you need to see for yourself to truly appreciate. When you're there alongside thousands of excitable fans for a crucial matchup featuring a team like the Clemson Tigers, you'll see that it doesn't get any better than this. In the digital age, there are all kinds of ways to keep up with your team, though there will never be a way that can hold a candle to the experience of actually being there alongside thousands of fans who love this sport as much as you do. We know that the pros are great to watch too, but there's something extra special in the air when it's only university pride on the line and two dynamic teams are trading baskets down below.

Clemson Tigers Basketball History

Though the Tigers have developed into a football powerhouse, they also know their way around the basketball court in the always competitive ACC. The Clemson Tigers have been selected to the NCAA Tournament 11 times, most recently in 2011 which culminated a four-year stretch where they made the Tournament at the end of each season. The furthest they have ever advanced in the tournament is the Elite Eight which they accomplished in 1980 to give their fans their best season to date. These days, the Tigers have been continually bringing in talented playmakers to their roster in an effort to keep up with the rest of the terrific conference, which always makes for a steady string of incredible matchups that you know you'll want to be a part of.

Clemson Tigers Basketball Trivia

A Tiger was named the ACC Player of the Year in 1987. Can you name the player?

The answer is Horace Grant, the talented power forward who was one of the best players in the history of the program, with it all really coming together during his 1987 season. After being named the ACC Player of the Year, Grant would end up being drafted with the 10th overall pick in the 1987 draft by the Chicago Bulls, where he would be an important piece in four different titles alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

Clemson Tigers Basketball Fans

The Clemson Tigers are gearing up for another season of college basketball and hoops fans in South Carolina could not be more excited. Looking to once again make their mark in the hotly contested ACC, the Tigers have reloaded their roster and appear to have what it takes to stake a claim to a spot at the top of the ACC standings. Be there as Clemson puts rim-rocking dunks and breath-taking fast breaks on display as they attempt to pile up wins and build their resume to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament in March. This is a team that comes with an incredible fan following that only seems to get more and more intense, helping to create the perfect atmosphere at Littlejohn Coliseum each and every time the Tigers take to the court.
