Gracie Abrams writes pop songs that read like journal entries, and that closeness with her listeners is the throughline of her whole career. Born in Los Angeles in 1999 and raised in Pacific Palisades, she started writing songs at age eight. She is the daughter of filmmaker J.J. Abrams and producer Katie McGrath, and she spent a year at Barnard College in New York City studying international relations before leaving to pursue music full time.
The bet paid off quickly. Abrams signed with Interscope Records in 2019 and released her debut single, "Mean It," that October. Her debut EP, Minor (2020), built an early following around singles like "I Miss You, I'm Sorry," and the follow-up EP, This Is What It Feels Like (2021), featured work with Aaron Dessner on the song "Rockland." The exposure multiplied when she opened for Olivia Rodrigo's Sour Tour in 2022, then joined Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in 2023, returning for more US and Canadian dates in 2024, including the second-to-last show of the entire run in Vancouver. Her debut album, Good Riddance, arrived in February 2023 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
From there, the numbers got big. Her second album, The Secret of Us (2024), debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and produced the singles "Risk," "Close to You," "I Love You, I'm Sorry," and "That's So True," which hit number one in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. She duetted with Taylor Swift on "Us," a Grammy nominee for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and appeared on a remix of Noah Kahan's "Everywhere, Everything," her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2025 she won the American Music Award for New Artist of the Year and Billboard's Women in Music Songwriter of the Year honor, and her third album, Daughter from Hell, followed in July 2026, led by the singles "Hit the Wall" and "Look at My Life." Her sound blends pop, bedroom pop, folk-pop, indie pop, and indie folk, with songwriting influences that range from Joni Mitchell to Lorde and Phoebe Bridgers. That range is a big part of the appeal of Gracie Abrams tickets: a single show can move from stripped-back, diary-style ballads to full-on pop singalongs.
