So while the production has been touring all across the country and the world, if you happen to be in San Francisco for any reason, that reason will soon turn to pleasure as there are plenty of chances for you to catch the musical that will be appearing at the Orpheum Theatre for the rest of 2013 and almost throughout all of January. So pick the date of your choice that you'll be heading out to the theatre and make sure that you secure your spot by getting your tickets from StubHub while they're still available!

About The Show

A tale like none other, The Book of Mormon follows the story of two naive and, at times, clueless Mormon missionaries who take a journey to Northern Uganda to try and spread good will and religion to the locals. Arriving in a small village, Elders Price and Cunningham soon find that they may be in a bit over their heads as they try to convince the locals that religion is important all while they suffer from AIDS, war, famine, poverty, and other such ailments. A testament to faith, doubt, friendship, and goodness in the world, The book of Mormon is a smash hit that has been surprising theatergoers all over the world with it's catchy tunes and endless hilarity. A wonderful change of pace for the musical scene, The Book of Mormon is raunchy, at times obscene, but filled with more heart and amazing musical numbers than many other productions can claim.

Breakthrough Album

With such a stunning opening year that succeeded in drawing in theatergoers from all over the world, the music found within The Book of Mormon was lauded as spectacular, wonderful, and all kinds of synonyms for amazing. And as is expected of musicals that find great success of Broadway, fans of the production eagerly awaited a release of the music, often done as a cast recording with the original cast. This much anticipated release came in the form of "The Book of Mormon: Original Broadway Cast Recording" in 2011, the same year that the show hit the stage on Broadway. Filled to the brim with excellent musical numbers that helped make the show such as smash hit like "Turn It Off", "Hello!", "Tomorrow Is A Latter Day", and so many more, this release became quickly became one of the most successful Broadway recordings of all time.

The Book of Mormon Trivia

With the Book of Mormon almost acting as a parody of musicals while itself being a musical seems a tough act to properly execute, but it was apparently something that came easy to Trey Parker and Matt Stone. With many of the musical numbers effectively lampooning songs from Broadway's rich past, the musical itself almost seems to be a love letter to the vibrant Broadway past while also successfully poking fun at it. Songs such as "Hello!", "Turn It Off", "Orlando", "You And Me (But Mostly Me)" and many other songs follow similar progressions and sounds, ultimately becoming a sort of parody of songs from musicals such as "Wicked", "Bye Bye Birdie", "The Pajama Game", "West Side Story" and more.

Fan Experience

There's no way to properly convey the hilarity that is contained within The Book of Mormon, but it's safe to say that no matter what style of humor you have that you'll be overcome with laughter from beginning to end of this wild musical adventure. Audiences of all shapes and sizes have been agreeing unanimously that The Book of Mormon is easily one of the funniest musicals to ever take to the stage, rivaling the best comedies to ever be created in general. So if you're a fan of musicals, laughter, and all around good times, then you owe it to yourself to be one of the many people finding great enjoyment in this new musical delight.
